Intellectual Property & Use Licence Agreement
Last updated 14 October 2026
This agreement explains the rights in AxiOstra materials and a limited permission for personal study and classroom teaching. It does not claim ownership of ideas, facts, public-domain material or rights held by others.
1. Rights and scope
The AxiOstra Operator identified on the About Us page holds only those rights in original text, design, code, models and other contributions that applicable law recognises and that have not been assigned or licensed otherwise. Third-party materials, open-source components and user submissions retain their respective ownership and licence conditions. Public availability, a citation or an AI-generated origin does not by itself establish permission for every proposed use.
This agreement operates only where the AxiOstra Operator has the relevant rights. It does not restrict lawful quotation, fair use, fair dealing, accessibility exceptions, other mandatory exceptions or use of material that is not protected. It does not grant ownership of scientific principles, mathematical methods or facts.
2. Permission for personal and classroom use
Subject to the conditions below, the AxiOstra Operator grants a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to view, display, print and reproduce reasonable extracts of operator-owned teaching materials for noncommercial personal study and classroom instruction. This includes displaying a page during a lesson and sharing attributed extracts with the participating class through a restricted learning environment. Ordinary school tuition alone does not make that classroom use commercial under this permission.
Keep the AxiOstra name, the relevant page link and any applicable third-party credit with reproduced extracts. Mark substantive alterations clearly and do not present an altered version as an unchanged AxiOstra publication. Do not remove warnings, assumptions or attribution in a manner that makes an extract misleading. This permission is not a requirement to reveal the personal identity of the AxiOstra Operator.
3. Uses requiring a separate basis
This permission does not authorise resale, a paid content package, public redistribution of substantial lessons or model files, a mirror of the website, or use of branding that implies sponsorship. Such uses require a separate written licence or another lawful basis. Contact [email protected] with the material, audience, distribution method and proposed purpose.
No general licence to copy the complete source repository or every downloadable asset is created by this page. A specific file or software component may have a separate licence that permits broader use; that licence governs the component. Restrictions in this agreement do not override permissions already validly granted under an applicable open-source licence.
4. AI-assisted material and third-party rights
AI tools contribute substantially to production. Copyright protection for AI-assisted material depends on the jurisdiction and the nature of human authorship. The AxiOstra Operator does not assert exclusive copyright in purely machine-generated elements where applicable law does not recognise such rights. Human selection, arrangement, revisions or other protectable contributions may have separate protection.
AI assistance does not guarantee originality, clearance of third-party rights or freedom from similarity to existing works. This licence conveys only rights the AxiOstra Operator can lawfully grant; it does not replace any permission required from another rights holder. Users remain entitled to statutory exceptions without obtaining an unnecessary licence.
5. Names, credits and no endorsement
AxiOstra names and logos may be used for accurate identification and linking, subject to applicable law. They must not be used to misrepresent affiliation, approval, accreditation or the origin of another service. No claim is made here that a trademark is registered in any particular jurisdiction.
Third-party publication names, examination references, software names and institutional references are used for identification. Their appearance does not establish a partnership or endorsement. Forum contributions are governed by the User-Generated Content Agreement; this page does not license them on behalf of their authors.
6. Complaints, duration and changes
Copyright concerns may be submitted through the DMCA and Copyright Notice page or [email protected]. Include the relevant work and page rather than passwords or unnecessary private information. The AxiOstra Operator will assess substantiated concerns and may correct attribution, remove disputed material or obtain permission as appropriate.
This limited permission continues for copies lawfully made under its terms. Material breach may end permission for the affected use after reasonable notice and an opportunity to correct it where practicable, without affecting statutory exceptions. Future revisions do not retrospectively make a previously authorised completed use infringing. Mandatory rights and remedies remain unaffected.
